Intersect: A Unique and Functional Dresser

Combining Form and Function in a Striking Design

Pröll drew inspiration from the concept of intersecting volumes, aiming to create a sense of lightness and floating in his design. The dresser consists of two main elements: a solid zebra wood frame that acts as a console table and intersects with the dresser itself. This unique configuration gives the impression that the dresser is suspended within the frame, creating a visually striking and dynamic composition.

One of the standout features of Intersect is the clever use of the diagonal part of the frame as the handle for the three spacious drawers. This design choice not only adds a touch of elegance but also enhances the functionality of the dresser. Opening and closing the drawers becomes effortless, thanks to high-quality drawer slides and the thoughtful placement of the handles.

The dresser's body is made of melamine-faced chipboard, providing a sleek and modern contrast to the warm tones of the zebra wood frame. Birch plywood is used for the drawers, ensuring durability and longevity. The craftsmanship is evident in the seamless integration of these materials, creating a cohesive and visually stunning piece.

Intersect offers more than just aesthetic appeal. The dresser provides ample storage space, making it both practical and functional. Additionally, small supports were strategically placed underneath the dresser to ensure stability without compromising the overall aesthetic.
